Dr. Christy Dena is Program Co-ordinator of the Master of Creative Industries at the SAE Creative Media Institute, Brisbane. Previously she was the Chair and Department Coordinator of Games at SAE Creative Media Institute. Christy completed her Ph.D. on Transmedia Practice at the University of Sydney and wrote the definition of ‘transmedial fictions’ for The Johns Hopkins Encyclopedia of Digital Textuality.
She has been published in Convergence Journal: International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies, New Perspectives on Narrative and Multimodality for Routledge, and numerous books on transmedia and games. Christy has worked on alternate reality games for Cisco and Nokia; been commissioned to create a multi-touch-screen installation for The Cube, QUT; commissioned to create an installation and App for the Experimenta Biennial of Media Art, and has created her own award-winning Apps. Christy is a Member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmys); and Member of the Australian Writers’ Guild Games and Interactive Advisory Committee.
