Greg Costikyan has designed more than 30 commercially published games, in a wide variety of media and genres. He is the recipient of five Origins Awards, the GDC Maverick Award, and is an inductee into the Adventure Gaming Hall of Fame. Things he has written are used in game studies courses across the globe, and he is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including GDC and Casual Connect.
He has written about games, game design, and game industry business issues for publications including Gamasutra, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal Interactive, and academic publications. In recent years, he has worked for a number of free-to-play game developers, including Disney Playdom, Loot Drop, Boss Fight Entertainment, and Backflip Studios. He has three children, three cats, three thousand plus books, a dozen console systems connected to the TV via a switchbox, and a thirst to ensure that the future of games is not merely more of the same, but explores every possible opportunity to amaze and delight a new generation of players.
